Fitness Services Officer

  • Full Time Role
  • Band 4 Salary

Reporting to the Fitness & Community Engagement Team Leader, the Fitness Services Officer will play a vital role in driving membership growth, retention and participation at the Ballarat Aquatic & Lifestyle Centre (BALC). This role is an important link between the Health Club, Group Fitness and Customer Experience departments and, as such, will need to be skilled and equipped to perform in all areas. The successful candidate will be a motivated team player with the ability to not only provide guidance, advice and training on all Health Club matters but also develop, implement and optimise retention programs and initiatives to meet BALC’s objectives.

Aquatic Program Officer – Multiple Positions

  • Part-time and casual positions available
  • Salary from $31.83 per hour, plus superannuation

Aquatic Programs Officers (APO) ensure that the swimming and water safety program at the Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre (BALC) is delivered to the highest standard as well as making sure all the administration that supports our programs is carried out effectively.  

An APO should be experienced in the area of swim teaching and water safety, having worked as a swim teacher across a number of disciplines (infant pre-school, access and inclusion & adults etc). As the face of our Aquatic Program, an APO will need to be able conduct themselves in a highly professional manner and provide excellent customer service to students, parents and fellow staff.  

You will also support BALC by contributing to a strong team culture within the Aquatic Programs team.

We are currently recruiting for new Aquatic Program Officers who are available to fill a minimum of two of the shifts listed below:

  • Monday PM – 3pm till 7pm 
  • Tuesday PM – 3pm till 7pm 
  • Thursday PM – 3pm till 7pm 
  • Friday PM – 3pm till 7pm 
  • Saturday – 7:30am till 1:30pm 

This will be an on-going term-based contract with shifts negotiated prior to commencement. The contract will be a combination of some of the above shifts with opportunities to pick up additional APO hours and/or swim teaching.  

Health Club Officer

  • Casual Positions
  • Band 3 Salary from $29.74 – $31.83 per hour, plus casual loading and superannuation

The Ballarat Aquatic Lifestyle Centre is seeking an energetic Health Club Officer who is passionate about the health and fitness industry to join our team of dedicated staff.

Reporting to the Fitness and Community Engagement Team Leader, the successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and motivated professional who is focused on and passionate about developing their career within the health and wellness industry.

This role requires flexible hours and days over a 7-day roster between 6am – 9pm.

Group Fitness Instructor – Casuals

  • Casual Positions
  • Band 5 Salary $35.19 – $40.17 per hour plus casual loading and superannuation

The Ballarat Aquatic Lifestyle Centre is seeking energetic Group Fitness Instructors with qualifications in LesMills, WETS, Yoga, Thai Chi, Zumba or other specialty fitness classes to join our team of dedicated staff.

Reporting to the Fitness and Community Engagement Team Leader, the successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and motivated professional who is focused on and passionate about developing their career within the health and wellness industry. As part of a tight-knit team, your willingness to help out and step in to fill timetable gaps when necessary is highly desirable.
