We are excited to announce resurfacing works will commence in the Learn to Swim (LTS) pool in July.
The Learn to Swim pool will be closed to the public from Wednesday 9 July 2025 until Sunday 3 August 2025 inclusive.
This essential work will provide a safe, more enjoyable experience for all members and visitors now and into the future.
What this means for swimming lessons
These works will impact weeks 1 and 2 of term 3 swimming lessons. All swimming lessons currently scheduled in the LTS pool will be moved to the multipurpose pool during this time. Learn to swim platforms will be used for preschool classes and provide a safe space for lessons to continue as normal. Some lessons currently scheduled in the multipurpose pool may be moved to the 25m pool.
Multipurpose (warm water) pool closures
To accommodate swimming lessons in the multipurpose pool, there will be no public access to the NORTH side of the multipurpose pool during lesson times in weeks 1 and 2 (Monday 21- Saturday 19 July and Monday 28 July – Saturday 2 August inclusive). Please see diagram below for closure times. The SOUTH side of the multipurpose pool (rehabilitation side) will be open as normal.
Aqua Aerobic Classes
Warm water classes in the multipurpose pool will be moved to the 25m pool between Monday 21 July – Friday 1 August inclusive. Keep an eye on the BALC Online Portal for up-to-date class availability.
25m Pool Temperature
To accommodate swimming lessons and warm water aqua aerobic classes, the temperature in the 25m pool will be temporarily increased to 30-31 degrees during project works.
50m Pool
The 50m pool will be in 25m mode from 11:30am – 9pm weekdays from 21 July – 1 August 2025 (inclusive).
Noise disruptions
We expect some noise in the pool hall during project works. Hoarding will be erected around the LTS pool to minimize disruptions and ensure a safe working space. Sensory Quiet Time will continue as normal between 3pm – 3:45pm daily.
